Curriculum Progression

At Mickleover Primary School, our curriculum is carefully designed to ensure clear progression in knowledge and skills across all subjects. Learning is planned sequentially so that new knowledge builds on what pupils already know, enabling them to deepen their understanding over time.

Strong connections are made to prior learning, and pupils are prepared for future learning through a cumulative approach. Key knowledge and skills are regularly revisited through planned ‘flashbacks’, allowing pupils to recall, apply, and secure their learning.
